So I've had an interesting and fun and painful couple of weeks. It mostly boils down to a couple of trips and what not. Other than that I've just been whittling down some of my messages on DA and I only have something like 183 devs to start commenting on, so I'm going to try and get to those sometime this break. Well, we'll see because I got some site projects and Hebrew homework to do.
The UN and NYC
Last Wednesday I took a trip to New York City (my first time there) to go to the United Nations building for a couple of boring briefings and a tour. We started out from school at about 4:30AM, then stopped once on the thruway (where I got sick), and finally made it into the city by 9:00AM.
The briefings as I mentioned above were boring. We were crowded into a tiny auditorium filled with old ladies and forced to listen to the audio version of a pamphlet on the UN’s efforts at democracy in Afghanistan and Iraq. I slept through most of it until Dr. Khan got up and spoke, he was the most active.
After shuffling out, we took a tour and got to see the Security Council and general assembly (neither in session). The building really shows its age, though that’s okay. The gifts from China, Taiwan and America were impressive; they also had some melted objects from Hiroshima there.
Lastly, we decided to take a walk to downtown Manhattan. So off we went for nine city blocks and went and saw Grand Central Station and Times square, both of which I was rather amazed at. Overall, it was a fun trip, I’d do it again, but I rather be able to spend the night and have more time to see the sights.
And Then I Went To The Hospital
So this morning I went in for surgery. Nothing major, just a quick procedure to stretch out my esophagus. But damn did they have a lot of tubing. So, I got there, got my gown on, and then they spring this whole concept of an IV on me. Let me tell you, those things hurt like a bastard. The sting goes away after a while, but damn it does suck for a bit. The good news about it though was that they were using it to feed me drugs. I was happy for a little while. Come surgery time, I had the IV, an air tube, electrodes, a finger clamp, and a tube down my throat. Oh yeah, this took ten minutes. Yeesh.
But everything went off without a hitch. I’d like to thank the hospital staff (who probably will never read this), everyone who prayed for me (thanks guys!), and God (We talked this morning; he said it’d be fine).
Projects and The Like
So as of right now, I have to redesign a blog, build a club website, translate 4-5 lessons of Hebrew, and maybe flesh out some storyboards for a video project this week.
Joy.
Keep your stick on the ice,

P.S.: I'll have more later on. These last two things were pretty big so I didn't want to add to them.
