Vampire - After DeathDrifting in and out of consciousness,
I find myself alive,
I find the answer that I seek,
but never fully contrive.
thoughts bubble forth inside my brain,
they never meet,
fortunes told over gnarled hands,
dark fortunes I must seek.
I lie on the floor,
my body cold,
my mind is doth so wander,
as tiny needles of water streak,
across my ruined visage.
My blood no longer flows,
my face no longer glows,
my spirit no longer exists.
I glance around for shadows never cease,
is but a notion from my cold fever,
for I am now a part of that world,
where shadows lie dormant to suck forth the very life,
of those less traveled.
I revel in my newfound glory,
will wonder never cease!
My strength is found,
my body proud,
my soul is still abandoned.
But thoughts set adrift,
amid my dreamed stupor,
for life is gone,
and never again,
shall I be granted,
the chance to see the light of dawn,
the warm embrace of a lover,
only the dead now,
only the dead shall I clutch,
in my frost bitten arm
Blood rushing through my veins,
swirling, living, dying,
lying in wait for the new arrival of a blissful dawn of darkness.
Faster, faster now...
the humming and drumming continue...
faster and faster... my temples throb in beat to the earth.
rushing and brushing my innards, the light of new breath,
of the winds of a dark new dawn of being,
my body is flung to the floor, the blood still thrumming,
rushing, faster now, my mind is exploding in color,
shades of gray are encroaching on my world,
cannot believe it, cannot control it,
a dark embrace peels back my flesh and rends my souls from my bones,
so cold now, the blood has stopped, the throbbing is dead,
so utterly lonely, so devoid of life, yet,
so seductivly powerful.
I am anew, yet old. My soul is no more,
flesh is rent and spent without abandon,
blood is my last concern, and my first love...
For the embrace reconciles all...
